I need to try this:

I figure - if you legitimately purchase the movie there is no reason you shouldn’t be able to play it on your iPod.  Its just like CD’s.  Those that know me know I’m a bit of an irritant about sharing music.  I do this this is fair.  Just like I think one or two time use of burning the new iPod movies for sale on iTunes to a DVD would be fair.

Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes

Apple iTunes store now has movies.  Inexpensive relative to the copy in the store but buit for the iPod. I wonder a few things.

Help says you cannot burn iTunes movies to DVD: “Movies purchased from the iTunes Store can’t be burned to a DVD or VCD that will play in a DVD player or Video CD.”  So what good is downloading Dumbo if I can’t burn it to a DVD to play in the car for the kids?  Hmmmmmm.   Will they have a tool to not only stream to the TV (as Steve said) but also to my minivan?

Also, like CD’s can you rip DVD movies into iTunes to watch on your iPod or TV?

Tired of this non-war, tired of this falling empire.

I rarely open up here but I gotta tell you, I’m getting tired of what I see as a continuous progression towards a falling empire. It’s always mega-powerful towards the end. I’m not a history professor and I’m not accurate in all my facts but I get the general idea and I enjoy the history of mans continuous struggle to control his destiny. When your control affects others you must compromise. When your control brings them along you don’t have to, its just harder. We started this empire, and that’s what it is, as a struggle to control our destiny. We grew this nation by trading and growing and bringing our partners with us. At was really the peak – the 1920’s we hit it hard and the rest of the world did well with us. It was the Greek system of city states, not Alexander’s conquest of the eastern world. It was the Struggle of Rome to control its destiny not the conquest of western Europe and the Macedonian Greeks. Are we at the end? We don’t have to be but we are no longer struggling, we are no longer empowering others.

The revolution in Iran isn’t right. We beat the British with the help of France. There is no correlation between us and Iraq. We invited the French, we started the revolution, we had the will to do whatever it took – maybe not at first, there were loyalists and passive farmers who simply stayed out of it. But we had our own leaders with great minds and the will to learn even more to find a way to achieve our goals. Find me those people in Afghanistan or Iraq. They existed in Russia, Eastern Europe, Israel and the countries who asked for help; started it themselves. These people we call Fundamentalists have that passion and we need to get it too. I’m rambling and have no point except that I’m tire, pessimistic and distraught on what is happening.

Good old Newt had an editorial in the WSJ today. Newt correlated Lincoln’s dilemma on escalating the conflict with the South and the Federal Government with our problems with the terrorists. That we need to recognize this is WW3 and that escalation is inevitable and we need to prepare. WW1 and WW2 were organized governments attacking other nations, not bands of gorillas causing terror. We stopped Iraq from going past Kuwait. One government attacking another to take control over that country. Was the attack on 911 a correlating event? No, it was a terrorist attack. If Afghanistan had attacked Pakistan, we should go in and support them if they are an ally, especially if they fight back first and ask for help. I don’t buy into the new world order. I do believe in revolution and a people’s right to rebel against an oppressive government. I don’t believe in forced will and belief.

I’m tired, going to bed. Rant done.
