Noble Duty Milblogger Coalition

I read an article in the WSJ today about Military Blogs. I knew they existed but hadn’t gone to look. Its a shame because many of these guys can write very well and their perspective is worthy of a good long read. Noble Duty Milblogger Coalition for a great post today on how:

“It is a Jihad for the sake of God and will last until (our) religion prevails … from Spain to Iraq,” Zawanotahero said. “We will attack everywhere.” Spain was controlled by Arab Muslims until they were driven from power at the turn of the 16th century.

365 and Wake Up Blackfive Michael Yon

I am happy to suggest you go read - great perspective and important news.

As for the latest developments. I am unhappy about the UN site bombing but I’m more unhappy that Israel is still trying to find the bastards who are shooting thousands of missles randomly into the country. BlackFive has a picture of UN and Hizbollah flags fly side by side in Lebanon. Does the UN expect them to stop searching and destroying as a cease fire and then allow more attacks just so they can be “the good guys” - I’m not sure what is going on in the UN but do they hear the words recanted above - Spain has to see it from a history perspective. Islam may have some followers that are for peace, some for war and a whole lot of in-between. I’m just sick of the psychos who look at the battle stories in the Koran and think they have to kill to get God’s grace. Its like looking at the Torah and Joshua’s and David’s battles as a call to kill today. This is not God’s will, it is the controlling of weak minds and the quest for power

We cannot trust the UN while Kofi is running things, as Michelle Malkin pointed out, even the soldiers at the UN post knew and told a retired Canadian General via email “”What he was telling us was Hezbollah soldiers were all over his position and the IDF were targeting them. And that’s a favorite trick by people who don’t have representation in the UN. They use the UN as shields knowing that they can’t be punished for it.”

We must fight this war, it saddens me but we must.

New Shoes, new test. I ran hard on Saturday and it felt like I was going to croak but my pace was still slower then I expected. I suspected the new shoes needed to be calibrated. I’m not sure if it is accurate anymore - I need a track but now my
Nike Triax Elite SDM Offset is 1038

Today I ran 6 miles with about a mile cooling down if you count the calibration that was more like intervals. I walked about a half mile home too.

6 Miles, 10:00/Mile, AHR 151 7:24AM

Mile 1: 11:17, 138BPM

Mile 2: 10:04 146BMP

Mile 3: 9:42, 152BPM

Mile 4: 10:03, 154BPM

Mile 5: 9:51, 160BPM

Israel and Lebanon - I’m sad.

Condi Rice struggles to maintain our dignity in the face of political critics who want to bring down the US and local political critics who want to bring down the administration.  As written in the WSJ:
Washington Wire » Half Empty or Half Full?

Its not about politics here anymore its about the reality of evil calling the shots now. We live differently here and abroad now that al-Qaeda is poking holes in the fabric of our lives. Now that Iran and Syria continue to help them do it.

I haven’t written about it yet but I watch CNN and FOX News every night and during lunch break. Its scary and horrifying to see that Hezbollah and Hamas are pushing Israel - into a no win/all lose deal. If they sit there they lose and Lebanon thinks Hezbolla is on track, if they strike back they risk hurting innocent Lebanese people. But they have been careful and measured in response - however fierce. I am so sad by this, that the Iranian and Syrian governments (not the people) are so hateful of Israel and Jews that they feel they have to create these forces of evil to create war. Do they fear their people seeing that a democracy can create wealth for many when they run their countries by keeping the masses under their thumbs like sheep? They use the Lord’s name in vein to create their power and wealth. They are so wrong.

Iran’s government “already wields disproportionate power in the Middle East through its proxies helping to tie down 150,000 US troops in Iraq, which is 60 per cent Shiite. Now, thanks to its proxies in Lebanon, Israel has been goaded into an attack on a democratic neighbor.” writes Paul Sheehan in his article Chaos rules in this borderless war all the way in Australia. I don’t want to be cruel to the friends I have that practice Islam. I want them to be the ones to stop these buggers. Just as Saudi Arabia, Jordan and others managed to criticize Hezbolla this time, keep it up please. I’m sad and troubled by this latest eruption. I believe Israel will survive, it has to.
